Deaf + DB + HH + STEAM

Dream Agriculture, Inc. is a strong supporter of children with disabilities, believing that all students should have an opportunity to learn, and be involved in STEM/STEAM education.

With this in mind, Dream Agriculture Inc. has chosen to develop the DEAF & DIVERSITY Initiative. Through this initiative, Dream Agriculture Inc. collaborates with American Sign Language (ASL) leaders, groups and professionals to help understand the educational needs of the Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing (D/DB/HH).

Through these growing partnerships, our Dream Agriculture team is able to incorporate specialized curricula, activities and events, that cultivate a learning environment where deaf, hard of hearing and hearing students can thrive.

Don't wait, see how you can get involved now!

The Dream Agriculture team would like you to partner with us as we provide barrier-free resources and opportunities, of the highest quality, to our students that are deaf and hard of hearing. Our commitment to diversity and equality in STEAM education influences every aspect of our programs including representation amongst our facilitators. Therefore, we are asking our members of the deaf and hard of hearing community to volunteer as interpreters, teachers, mentors, guest speakers, and more!

Deaf STEM Professionals

"We Need More Deaf People In STEM"

In an interview with The Muse, Johanna Lucht, the first Deaf Engineer at NASA stated, “When kids see that there are adults like them doing cool stuff, it can often inspire them. Math was the first thing I really understood in school, so I always had a love for it, growing up. It was something I worked at understanding, and it became my favorite subject. I grew up skilled in math.”

NASA stated that, “It was her passion for math and the ability to face challenges that led Johanna to her eventual studies of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, and began her road to NASA.” By offering STEM education, programs and resources to the DHH we help create jobs, language, and more opportunities for both deaf and hearing students and professionals.
